Violated Hero 3 English v0.35

September 21, 2013 by Dargoth 21 Comments

v0.35: https://mega.co.nz/#!XEZTUQBZ!Va_2GVD54CTs0qFYAH-jfzGJnUAAvdod6PWPOBDoOg8
alternate: https://anonfiles.com/file/fe270146a981738444c424c364ea1d87

Here is the catgirl Anna fully translated and another of Nea’s scenes, #13 to be exact. I hope I didn’t make any mistakes in these because I forgot to back them up before I clobbered the originals with my word wrap script. That script seems to be getting me in lots of trouble this month.

Turns out I did have a backup lying around.

New Monster Girl Quest updates from Torotoro

September 21, 2013 by Dargoth 61 Comments

Torotoro updated his site today with more details on his next MGQ game.
http://b.dlsite.net/RG07939/
The previous update has some screenshots. Be warned that if you’re trying to avoid MGQ final chapter spoilers at all costs, you probably shouldn’t look at them.
A few new profiles were added to the MGQ site a few days ago as well. Again, might not want to click this if you’re trying to avoid spoilers. http://mon110.sakura.ne.jp/mong/d002.html

A simple introduction to my next project.
Please give me a lot more time to complete it.
The next game is an RPG.
The protagonist is … kind of a SPOILER. Highlight to reveal: Luka.
If you lose, you’ll be raped by exotic women.
H-scenes will all be femdom.
The battles will be fundamentally the same as MGQ, except this time you have party members. (How the hell is that remotely the same?)
You can easily rewatch ero scenes once you’ve seen them.
For people that don’t want to be bothered with the game, clear data will be included so you can see the ero scenes.
The degree of difficulty will be relatively simple, similar to DQ3-6 or FF4-6. It will be possible to raise the difficulty if you choose though.
Even if you’re bad at RPGs, you can easily steamroll fights if you level up. Skilled players will be able to use skills and abilities to progress through at low levels.
There will be very few riddles, and practically no puzzles in dungeons.
There will be no way to screw up your character from misallocating stat points or anything like that. Attributes will automatically go up when you level.
You can turn enemy monsters into your companions.
The system will resemble DQ5-6.
You will only be able to recruit one monster per type/species. It will not be possible to have multiple companions of the same type/species. (Not quite sure what he means by this. He probably means that you can’t have 2 of the exact same monster, but it could be read as limiting you to 1 harpy out of all the different types of harpies, etc.)
You can recruit any monster that you fight. Therefore there are going to be a huge number of possible companions.
There will be a base for your companions to wait at when not in your party. You can bring along 7 of them and swap members at the base whenever you’re there. It will also be possible to play with fewer, even alone if you dare.
Even though you can have a party of 8, only 4 fight at once. You’re free to swap between them outside of battle.
There will be various jobs that you can switch between. The job system will be extremely similar to DQ6-7.
By raising job levels, you can acquire skills and abilities.
For monsters you really like, you can repeatedly change their jobs and train them up.
If you raise your companion monster’s impression of you, they will reward you erotically.
There will be no monster fusion system or way to father children to add to your party.
There will be a monster conversation system like in the Shin Megami Tensei series. They will ask you questions and demand items and money. Depending on the results, it will change their opinion of you, they may give you presents, and it may become easier to recruit them.

If you didn’t already know, the game will be made in RPG Maker.

Violated Hero 3 English V0.291 (updated)

September 14, 2013 by Dargoth 33 Comments

Update: New version so you can get past Sei Mei in area 4. Dieselmine tricked my word wrap script by indenting a few lines of script code with tabs. I didn’t even know the kirikiri engine would allow that, oops!

v0.291: https://mega.co.nz/#!OJQQ2T4B!ZonUTByP1UA_3BXbAMZRHQzUucQpTjcIPokuiiKmmpE (27.3 MB)
https://anonfiles.com/file/cda560e2db3caa29d661f1088c1d48ae

Adding to what’s already done, this contains h-scenes 11 and 12, the mandatory ones at the beginning of the game with Nea and Sei Mei.

I’m going to try uploading new patches every Friday or Saturday depending on when I finish a scene. Since the last patch was on Sunday, this one is only 4 days of work.

Violated Hero 3 English Storyline Translation

September 8, 2013 by Dargoth 37 Comments

VH3 English Version 0.26: https://mega.co.nz/#!fAQCXKIQ!OvEzKjesOwEJx2TEplFs0WZ3diQAbag7GgCwgNbpOB0 (27.3 MB)
Alternate Link: https://anonfiles.com/file/a66a4ec9409449156e562b7ec9d3897f

This translates every non-hentai scenario file in the game with all of the plant girl (including her rape scene) as a bonus. It’s 26% of the game in total. Like the previous titles, the story is pretty crappy, but I wasn’t going to just translate hentai scenes only. Battle lines for the important bosses are translated, but not for regular enemies or the other bosses.

Future patches should be coming more often now that all that is out of the way.

Also, go vote in the VH4 fan submitted monster poll I linked in my last post.

Violated Hero 4 Announced

August 1, 2013 by Dargoth 121 Comments

Feels like I just created a category for VH3 when they’ve already got a 4th one announced. This time around, they’re actually taking user submissions. Details are here: http://dieselmine.com/rec_pro_2nd.htm

They’ll take submissions throughout August and then everyone gets to vote on them from September 4th through the 23rd. It also sounds like if you submit artwork of your monster girl and it gets chosen, they’ll pay you for it, although the details of that aren’t really laid out. For a textual description, they’re essentially looking for the equivalent of an encyclopedia entry with a brief summary of rape scenes.

After 3 VH games and 200+ monsters in MGQ, I think we’ve really scraped the barrel of monster girls dry, but perhaps people will come up with some fresh ideas.

Violated Hero 3 Interface Translation take 2

July 30, 2013 by Dargoth 22 Comments

VH3 English v0.02
Mega: https://mega.co.nz/#!PdhQgCwT!b4Rm0nG6x02Mc_QHlwKpuiRHRes5PepQxq94ItTq8z0
Anon: https://anonfiles.com/file/201bdf499a9e5424300bb35ba63a5e68

Hopefully I didn’t miss a quotation mark or anything that causes a crash. I already found out that I’m going to have to alter my word-wrap script again, but I think I manually fixed the problems it created this time.

If anyone who’s good with regular expressions wants to help me out, I’ve got this to match brackets:
separatebybrackets = re.compile(r'[^[]+|[[^]]*]s*’)

Unfortunately, it doesn’t handle nested brackets. So the line:
[eval exp=”kag.tagHandlers.trans(%[layer:’base’, method:’universal’, rule:’左から右へ2′, vague:64, time:1300*sf.Effect])”]
only gets matched as
[eval exp=”kag.tagHandlers.trans(%[layer:’base’, method:’universal’, rule:’左から右へ2′, vague:64, time:1300*sf.Effect]

Can anyone see how to rewrite the regex so it matches the entire line? It’d save me a lot of trouble.
EDIT: Nevermind, got it first try. [^[]+|[[^]]*[[^]]*][^]]*]s*|[[^]]*]s* (what a monster)

Special thanks for image editing help goes to:
Raidis, art team leader for the currently in development VN at http://blog.love-despite.com/ (He did those nice-looking title buttons for me)
Zin for an assortment of other random buttons and icons

So here’s a second patch that translates pretty much every image you need to play the game along with all the battle text (not the battle dialogue though). As for the scenario itself, just the very beginning is done (and all the choices). Purane’s H-scene is partially translated and not word wrapped. Sorry, the image editing has destroyed my time in the last week, but it’s all scenario stuff from here on. Like with VH2, I currently intend to release a storyline patch first and then go back and do h-scenes. VH3 tried a bit harder with its story than previous titles, but it’s still no MGQ or anything.

Images that aren’t translated:
Anything related to the yokai encyclopedia
Area names
Enemy nameplates
The seal clues
The “NEW” indicator for areas
Trap/healing message
Choice selection on the right in battle (fairly redundant)
A few other little random kanji that might pop up

There’s definitely a chance that I translated some images and left them out of the patch by accident though. If you run into something written in Japanese not on the list and think it’s important, leave a comment. It might have been a mistake.

Names are still subject to change, but right now I’m going with Lei Ling, Fan Mei, and Sei Mei. I still find it annoying that Fan Mei is often referred to as “The Nine-Tailed Kitsune” as both a title and a name. It works in Japanese I guess, but it’s an awkwardly long title for English, especially when it’s being used in her presence. Everyone else has a laundry list of titles as well, but none are such a mouthful. Oh well, I’ll deal with it.

Violated Hero 3 out, basic interface translation

July 19, 2013 by Dargoth 74 Comments

Game’s out now. English DLSite link: http://www.dlsite.com/ecchi-eng/work/=/product_id/RE118597.html

So this weekend is really bad for me, but I managed to do some editing on the tutorial images, some buttons, stats screen, etc. based on the demo. It’s a start and will hopefully help a few people actually play the game.

VH3 English v0.01 https://mega.co.nz/#!nBJiFLjQ!CszgdTavlXEMpt1utUbuchIaVOpZ9ZvdDtTdQ4sIWHM

Anonfiles: https://anonfiles.com/file/29d716d05018e953679320cc67b1a85c

This is super quick and dirty and untested. I’m in a rush. Usual patching process applies, at least the extracting part only has to be done once. Hopefully it works. 🙂

VH3 Demo and Preliminary Info

July 18, 2013 by Dargoth 33 Comments

DLSite Announce Page: http://www.dlsite.com/maniax/announce/=/product_id/RJ118597
Demo: http://dl.redistribution.cc:8008/contents/doujin/2013/07/dieselmine/okasare3.zip (thanks to Zin for finding a working link)

This time around, the protagonist is an 陰陽師 exorcising yokai/ayakashi. Apparently Dieselmine really doesn’t like calling their monsters “monsters.” If you want to see the biggest wall of text ever on Wikipedia, check out that article for onmyoji. They were apparently Taoist diviners/fortune-tellers/exorcists in ancient Japan (and I assume China too) that worked for the government.

So the yokai go on a rampage and the Empress sends you on a mission to go exorcise them. Calling the protagonist an exorcist seems fine, but the monsters are a bit more problematic since you don’t exactly exorcise monsters. “Spirits” could work or perhaps I’ll just leave them as yokai (and maybe translate out all usages of ayakashi since I’ll be damned if there’s any real difference between the two). The head yokai is a nine-tailed kitsune who is alternatively called both 九尾 (nine-tails) and 皇美 (empress beauty). Does she have two names just to be annoying? The catgirl refers to her as 九尾様 but the slime maid uses 皇美様. I thought maybe the protagonist wouldn’t know the second name because it’s more personal, but nope, he uses it right at the beginning.

Since someone who was familiar with Chinese names helped me out last time, we have even more of them this time around.

皇美 Huáng měi (Japanese pronunciation: Fanmei)
麗鈴 Li Ling, Lai Ling (Japanese pronunciation: Reirin)
星冥 Xīng Míng (Japanese pronunciation: Seimei)

Any ideas or suggestions? I’d like their names to sound similar to the Japanese pronunciations but look natural in English.

Desire Dungeon English v1.12

Desire Dungeon English Version 1.12

Mega: https://mega.nz/#!jJA1nY5R!mOQwMKTw73NQ4i0w-yltn4hVM8cWAZCCUVrySWMkYrs

It was brought to my attention that the original author released a v1.10 patch today which fixed the occasional crash when fighting the Mimic. The damage calculations only checked for damage > 0, not damage >= 0. I’ve updated the English patch to reflect the new changes. Although I normally wouldn’t consider this a big enough change to warrant incrementing the version number to 1.10, I figured I may as well match the official patch number to avoid confusion. I went ahead and also included the updated credits screens into the English patch (not that anyone really cared) so you shouldn’t need any of the official Japanese patches at all.

October 6, 2013 update to version 1.11 to fix 2 untranslated lines.
December 19, 2013 update to version 1.12 to address locale-related ending crash (maybe)
v1.02 Fixes Mimic crash (didn’t handle the 0 case in damage properly).
v1.01 Fixes untranslated Moebius ring text.

Original game created by Yokubou no tou:
http://rinrin.saiin.net/~yokubounotou/index.html
http://www.dlsite.com/maniax/work/=/product_id/RJ096876.html

Translated by:
RogueTranslator http://roguetranslations.wordpress.com/
Dargoth http://dargothtranslations.wordpress.com/

Included files:
English readme.txt – this file
0.txt – English script file
DesireDungeonwrap.exe – game executable compatible with translation patch
/cg/ – folder containing title screen images

Installation instructions:
1. Copy all files to your Desire Dungeon directory.
2. Run DesireDungeonwrap.exe

Other things:
1. Window/Full Screen modes: alt+enter
2. Use Windows sound mixer to change volume. The game has no volume controls.

Common solutions to problems:
1. Run the game in Japanese locale.
2. Make sure the game directory and files aren’t write-protected or account protected by UAC.
3. If you crash fighting the mimic, sorry. There’s something weird going on with her that we haven’t been able to figure out.
4. You can’t use old saves from the Japanese version. Sorry.
5. Make sure you have the full version of the game and not a trial.

Special thanks:
Somelolicatgirl – executable hacking for word wrap and fixing byte boundaries
Anthemoessa – item translation work and title screen buttons
Everyone that played early versions and reported bugs and typos

What isn’t translated: Encyclopedia entries for weapons, equipment, and items. All monster entries are translated, however.
