Wow!!, That video just made me even more excited about Paradox!. It will be one hell of a job to translate all that but it will be worth it in the end I’m sure 😀

  2. The Noble Shade

The hype. The Hype. THE HYPE. THE HYPE IS SO FUCKING REAL, I CAN’T TAKE IT.

I’m going to enjoy this a lot. One of the things that always bugged me about MGQ is that the plot felt a bit rushed and not fleshed out all the way (a few gaping plotholes to say that least). It looks like this game won’t have that problem.

  3. This video makes Christmas even sweeter. This ”coming soon’ though, makes you wonder how ”soon” is SOON ? I am pretty sure that for most that soon is not soon enough xD.

Well, at least we are now occupied with the trailer, for a while. As always your efforts are greatly appeciated Dar.

    Happy Holidays

  4. Arj

Looks like MGQP will takes years to translate even for a large team of people. I dont even wanna think about how much stuff there is to translate, with items, class skills, race skills, castle things, and all of that… You are a hero to us all Dargoth, to work on this. Thank you and thank you again.

  5. Striker J

Dargoth, man you’ve got a hard base to please now. Between the ones who will want MGQP and the ones who will want Sei Monmusu Gakuen. I think there will always be those twats in the comments who will only comment just to harass you over your choice. Ignore those people. Do which ever game/novel you feel like doing.

  6. anon

Wow the hype is real! It’s going to be such a long time until we get a full translation unfortunately but I’m happy so long as it’s being translated at all! Thanks for all the hard work Dargoth!

  7. Anonymous

Yay! Not only is Chrome possble companion (with a chainsaw attack), but (judging by one of CG images at the end) she also has some plot to her!

  8. The Noble Shade

I watched the trailer a few times and I noticed two very significant things.

    http://imgur.com/sDi8wXB
So this guy looks a lot like Lazarus (it may or may not be him, since we can’t see the state of his left arm). If it is, we may finally see exactly what his Ilias Kruez days were like.

    http://imgur.com/aLP3qIP
That say “LUKA” on that grave. What does this bode?

  9. Anonymous

Christ it appears to be looking like a massive game in terms of dialogue. I sure hope you get help with it in some form or I could see this taking a very long time to translate.

  10. Anonymous

any chance that rogue could be woken from odinsleep to assist dargoth once again? I am sorry if I am overstepping my bounds to ask, but it was merely a thought.

  11. WildFour

I really Really REALLY hope they will include a running function in paradox >_< the slow walking speed has always been the bane of rpg maker games.

  12. Takata

Alma Elma, Granberia, Tamamo and Erubetie are strangely absent from that trailer… hope they’re in the game somewhere. Wonder if you can get both Alice and Ilias in your party at the same time late in the game.

That shot of three guys wearing shirts and suits looked -really- out of place for the setting. Hopefully there’s a decent explanation for it. (Like how Promestein’s lab coat was out of place in MGQ, but it’s sort of explained by her being a scientist and working with a level of technology far ahead of most of the world.)

  13. Hey Dargoth, as always thanks for the awesome translations! Just wanted to let you know I wrote a patch tool for encrypted RPGMaker games with Paradox in mind. Just give it the original, and the translated version and it should make an exe that will auto-patch the game. I linked the source code in the website section of the form, and the binary is up at: https://mega.co.nz/#!JdNEwJLS!DL5oik1uKOLNpUWdPWYa7wgOckpt4smt9ExFIP5O84M
Let me know if you do try it and run into problems.

I’m starting to get a decent handle on the rpgmaker formats so let me know if there are any tools that could help you along and I’ll see if I can code something up.

  14. Manc

Anyone know what the song is from the PV? I know most of MGQ’s songs were freeware from Rengoku Teien, but I haven’t heard that.

  15. LamiasLamiasLamias

Any chance of us still getting Dinner? I bought it in anticipation of your awesome translation. No biggie if not. Paradox looks like a major workload. Thx for all your work!

    • DirtyCuckingFunts

What the fuck do you even do in this? It seems like all you can do is talk to some wizard guy, become an orc and fight predetermined enemies (snails) with one attack over and over.

Why do people think making games like this is a good idea?

      • Yeah I know it is not that great of a game, but a good time killer, that can occupy you for a little while. There are different special attacks in the full version, that are not present in the demo. Demo is kinda meh, but the full version is ok-ish.

  16. Cio

I will definitely buy this trilogy again… I’m so hyped with Shiki’s art and torotoro’s writing skill will be definitely my favourite here! Dargoth, i will definitely support you! And Merry Christmas!

So let’s comment about the video a little:

    – Promestein appearance as MC is a really nice surprise, and it was nicely done to choose her young appearance, which won’t be as extremist as the older one. I’m sure she’ll be a fun party member to have, and really, Promestein deserved some love too. I’m curious about what reaction will Ilias give when she sees her, taking into account that this Ilias is from the original series and this Promestein is obviously not from there.

    – Brunhilde… I’m surprised we got another Xelvy character as a main one. I was convinced that Sonya would be Xelvyfied, but if we already get one robot in our party as MC, then I guess she may still be kept as human. Though Sonya really makes some weird eyes in the video, and I already checked her sprites and she makes other weird faces. As expected of Xelvy! Btw Brunhilde is goddamn sexy, the most beautiful robot Xelvy has made IMO.

    – Nuruko was kind of a surprise. I knew she existed already since I’ve been following the blog, but I wasn’t expecting her to be a main character. Guess we have one oppai loli MC too. Arekishi must be pleased.

    – I’ve seen Sylph as party member, which I’m glad, because I personally would have preferred them to join the battles rather than just be a power Luka has.

    – Confirmed important (at least for me) characters in first game:
    > Chrome is there, but I’m sad she’s not a MC. And La Croix too, but judging by the screenshot she’s most likely dead like in the original series. So sad.
    > Nanabi is there too in this first chapter. I’ve seen a fox with 7 tails in one part of the video.
    > Tiny Lamia, Vampire and Dragon are there. Tiny Lamia seems to be an innkeeper in the castle and Tiny Vampire seems to be in charge of the Items shop. This is similar to where they worked in the original series. We can probably expect Tiny Dragon to work in the Blacksmith or in the Weapons or Armor shop.
    > Is it me, or does Black Alice appears in the last parts of the video alongside the Angel Halo sword? Hope she makes an appearance in the first game, but I’m not expecting her to be a party member in this one.

    – We have someone similar to Lazarus, most likely a Lazarus from ANOTHER DIMENSION!

    – Looks like the three succubus sisters are probably going to be the end bosses of the first chapter, though I doubt they’re the final enemies of the entire series. I also see Zion, the second Seraphim fighting against one of the sisters

    – In the end you can only change jobs in Ilias temple, though we have items and spells that teleport us to previous locations so there’s no problem here.

So after this video we can confirm a total of 6 main girls in the game. I remember they commented that there would be different paths to take, so most likely you will have 6 paths that depend on each of those girls. Alice and Ilias is already decided at the beginning to make a point of what I say.

IMO we should expect the game to be released on March, or if we’re optimistic because of the “Coming soon”, maaaaybe it’s a New Year’s present, with a huge maaaaaybe to remark how unlikely this is.

    • mikceron

what do you mean as “MC”? as i understand almost all if not all characters can join party so probably they have quest for them or just react on some characters in dialohues. And if succubes shown in priewview it doesnot mean they will be for sure main characters of 1 part

      • NoName

MC means main characters, aka characters that belong to the party and that are more important than the others, and are necessary for the plot. Best example to compare is Suikoden series. You have 108 characters in total, but from all of them only a few are important to the plot. Other characters are called side characters, though some have more importance than others (for example Chrome may be an important side character that must be recruited) but the mobs you meet on the map are not important since they don’t do anything to the plot. But in both cases they really aren’t necessary in the main plot.

    • I was about to suggest that ”Coming Soon”, might be all about surprising us with a New Year’s release. ( which is a huge maybe indeed as you suggested). But then I thought that companies usually inform their audiences about release dates, because of policies. IF Torotoro surprises us during Christmas/New Years with MGP, I will book a ticket to Japan and I WILL find them, and once I do….I will buy them dinner…seriously 🙂

    • Manc

Omg yes, someone who thinks the man in a suit looks like Lazarus! Maybe it’s just his art style, or maybe there is a connection.

      A question about the translation:
      “Brunhilde, pure, psycho mechagirl”
What does the pure mean? Does that mean she’s “pure” in character, or purely psycho?

  18. NoName

Btw, this part made me laugh a lot:

“Sonya, priest and childhood friend who loves clubs”

Seriously, no joke about this. She has like 4 fucking clubs hidden inside her house in the game. I mean, one of them is in her bed, under her pillow! WTF is that obsession with clubs LOL.

  19. Anonymous

Dargoth. What are your thoughts on the trailer? Are you impressed with the scope of this game? Are you excited about playing? Curious to know what your thoughts are. :hmm

  20. Anonymous

Keep up the good work Dargoth. I’ve been following you since before rogue got out and I want to say thanks for the translations.

    • Manc

Nice eye! You might have found what this “Paradox” is. I don’t think its the grave in the town graveyard (that’s Lucifina). But it shouldn’t be the isolated grave in the town either (the picture has several graves).

    • mikceron

the white rabbit did mention specially-made Luka’s so i suppose he is not the only one even in mgq they created a female version of him so its not that hard lol

  21. Anonymous

    THE HYPE IS REAL
Other than that, I kinda feel sorry for you dargoth, to do a project this big, with the high expectations from people.
But anyway, do your best man, i’ll be happy enough to be able to play this game fully translated, even if it came in years

  22. Anonymous

Hi Dargoth, I was wondering if you think you are merry christmas. Thanks, I hope you have a good year. Hope to meet you soon.

    • NoName

Welcome to the world of Katakana being used for foreign names. It’s a ride which is impossible to know where it will go. Basically jump from the train at the station you believe it is, and hope you were correct in your choice!

Okay, let’s be more serious. This is what happens when you use katakana for foreign words. It’s impossible to know which word they are referring to except by context, because unfortunately there are lots of words that could have the same katakana conversion (usually the conversions either go by how it sounds, or how it’s written, the second being the worse conversion). And sometimes, like in this case, context doesn’t help at all. Only way for this to work is that Torotoro puts in English letters the name he wanted to give.

    • Kurobane Sayuki

      This without doubt, right?
I mean it’s so epic… Translation for whole game (part 1) when it comes out will take so long though 🙁

    • Anonymous

Yea It’s a no-brainer for me. Paradox will bring many many hours of fun so it should be top priority whenever it releases. It’s unlikley that atleast Dargoth will get the time to translate Dinner before Paradox releases because even when the demo is done he has another game to deal with.

      • NoName

        You guys do realise that:

        1. You have no choice in the matter of what he will choose to translate, unless he starts a vote.
        2. Dargoth already said that he will translate Dinner after the demo.
        3. Dinner itself will probably be shorter to translate than the demo, specially since it’s easier to find and translate the dialogue and the dialogue itself isn’t that complex (some parts are basically sound effects too, which is more tedious than difficult to translate).

So yeah, Dinner translation will happen. Dargoth already said so. Why do you insist on denying this fact?

  23. WildHawk

You know maybe i have the wrong idea but i would not have put out a video like this if the game was not gonna be released in the next few months if it gets released around late summer or later i would say its too early to show this just saying

    • SToche

All for hype, there was alot of content in the video shown though. However no story at all (minus a few lines of text) so who knows when it will be done lol

  24. Sevalle

Looks great, this definitely looks like it will be a long game. Hopefully there are multiple endings for some characters. Not game over screen, but a legitimate ending. The only shame is that the reward sex is probably the same as for the one where you lose. I’m hoping it’s not but I doubt they can make two h-scenes for 500 monsters.

  25. redtack2009

holy fuck…… the… the everything!! all of my yes!… you see… this is why the series is beyond any other monster girl game… its not JUST about the rape… (though that is also hella fun XP ) all of the monster girl games have had such good story and character development and this one looks to be the same.. the last 15 seconds of the trailer showed a lot… people laughing people crying people leaving… story ladies and gentlemen…. story….

  26. pejman92

    NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED !!!!

Most awaited game 2015 (that sounds retarded, but i am waiting more from this than heroes of the storms or other “big” games)

  27. Anonymous

Ok i need to say: The Trailer was Awesome. I really cant wait to see the full game. Please Dargoth promise that you will translate all of it. It doesnt matter how long you need.^^

  28. NoName

I really am frustrated with the “Coming soon” announcement, seriously. The game is obviously completed at this point, just by looking at the trailer, and the remaining thing may be testing and fixing, but that’s it. Really, you don’t put a “Coming soon” unless it’s really coming soon. You would rather put a release date for that. I really hope that it comes in New’s Year.

    • Manc

No one can really judge how big part 1 is going to be. After all, this is just a preview.

It’s fine to write coming soon, and then give a release date a few days before release. Nothing is certain, so they can’t give a date weeks or months in advance.

Be patient, quality is way better than rushing to be a little earlier.

    • Striker J

All RPG games require a long time to test. There’s a lot to consider including blocking the players from going to areas they’re not supposed to head into.
Preventing sequence breaking takes a lot of programming and thought as to where could it happen. Finding these breaks and fixing them as to prevent the player from getting a total game breaking sequence that would prevent player progression.
So yes they could rush it out and release patches later, or they could do a long testing period to save players progress so that aren’t threatened by a accidental game breaking sequence break.

  29. Anonymous

See, I absolutely love MGQ series and I also love JRPG, but mixing these two together kinda worries me for some reason. I felt that MGQ was at its best being linear, focusing more on the story, dialogue, and the battle sequences and of course the H-scenes. Being a RPG felt like it would have more meat and distractions from the things I loved about MGQ. Not to mention now with random encounters, it might be a little cumbersome to try and encounter the monster girls that way which was a pretty straight forward and relaxing task in the original trilogy.

I played the demo, and it kinda confirms my worries on the game. Nonetheless, I’m still greatly looking forward to the game. Planning to play it in Japanese with VNR, hard to wait for the full translations. lol

    • CivilDeviation

I think though I’m not sure that there are reduced encounter items in the game. Might make it more enjoyable. Some will hate the “distractions” as a break from continuity and some will see “exploration” as a way of bringing depth and self-immersion between storyline. Honestly though, I can’t think of a game that I’ve been this excited for aside from the poke’a’girl jrpg.

      • Anonymous

I’m aware of the reduce encounter accessory, but that doesn’t really solve the problem though. Less random encounter also mean less chance of encountering the monster girls and more time needed to find a certain monster girl missing from monsterpedia. In standard JRPG, it may be fine to miss out on random encounter because they’re just monsters, but these are monster GIRLs, the main driving force of the game. xD

      • SToche

The way I look at random encounters is bringing depth to the world, making it feel… alive I guess, since it’s RPG maker and not a VN-styled game anymore. If he just placed a few events for every MG in every area then the world would feel less populated when there’s supposed to be a ton of MGs, it worked with the trilogy because of it’s format in my opinion. We can actually see the world from a different perspective this time and it’s going to feel much larger and it brings in the chance of rare MGs being encountered. Also brings in the option of a lot of sidequests, not that I particularly like them that much.

      • Manc

You can take the accessory on and off. It seems strange that there are both friendly monsters (Slimes) and also aggressive monsters in the same area (Slimes).

I feel I would prefer the more linear encounters as well (like meeting npc Bunny Slime to fight her), but it’s the RPG maker norm to have random encounters. I hope the game ups the difficulty and challenges with monsters. Only boss fights seem to be as challenging as the MGQ’s regular monsters. The random mobs seem to be weak for the sake of being able to grind or travel.

One thing I’ll miss from MGQ is the meditation. You’d choose to fight a slow battle with meditation and spirits, or just blitz before you die. Maybe MGQP will bring a different kind of fun through all the jobs.

      • Sonicdude8

In regards to what Manc said, don’t forget, in the original MGQ one feature of the linear battles was that you heal in between every battle, so it didn’t matter how hard an enemy was as long as it is possible to beat at full health (even the “random mob” type enemies). In this game it is necessary to fight a random mob many times before getting to the boss, so if they made one type of mob really tough, you would need to heal to full health after every normal battle. In that case a player needs tons of healing potions in order to travel, and this does not include the amount necessary to travel a dungeon. (this is referring to when characters at the appropriate level for the area and not under-leveled members). I don’t claim to be the best at strategies in games with a set number of enemy encounters but I don’t think I’m bad at them. Think back on the enemies in the original MGQ and remember how much health you had after each battle. Of course unlike the original, we can level grind in paradox until we are over-leveled, and that would make it easier.

  30. NoName

… It’s in the trailer. That pig girl that attack a bear girl is an orc. Orcs are usually depicted as pigs, so yeah, that’s the orc.

      • NoName

Yeah, she’s in, though if you’re asking if she will be in the first release then we don’t know. We do know that Nanabi and the small fox is in the first game because of the trailer. IMO I doubt we reach the four heavenly knights in the first game, and since Yao was fought a little before them, you probably will get her in the second game.

And seriously, I don’t get why there’s so much Yao love in 4chan when Nanabi is far better, but oh well…

  31. Cellulanus

I had a dream last night where the full translation was out.

I hope it was a prophecy. And I’m worried about the implications that I’m dreaming about waiting for the translation to an eroge demo.

    • Anonymous

Dreaming about waiting for the translation to an eroge demo for a game about monsters raping a shouta, you mean 😛

      • Asshole

Goddamn if it’s taking you this long to finish the demo then part 1’s going to take at least 3 years.

Can you at least upload what you got done?

      • Sure asshole. I’m sitting at work at 10PM on New Year’s Eve, but I’ll head home and check the status of editing and package up what I’ve got.

      • Asshole

Your post said that you’re “not even close to being done” implying that it would take a while to be finished. I was asking if you could upload what you did get done at the date you said it would be finished.

      • Anonymous

Why are people so excited/bitchy about the demo trans. I really just think of it as a head start in translating the main game when it’s released (which may be why it’s not done yet, because there is no rush). I played the demo with the partial trans earlier and really didn’t need anymore. It’s a freaking demo, so why they hell are you all so hell bent on having it translated. It’s likely going to be finished before the main game is released so it really doesn’t matter when it’s complete. All in all, F off.

  32. Anonymous

Dargoth is going to need to be kept on a steady diet of Ritalin and cocaine in order to get this one out quick enough!

Looking forward to customizing a team of MGs. This brings up a lot replayability, which I think MGQ lacked. Though I am worried about the grinding that apparently will be a part of the game. It will definitely be a different feeling to the series.
