EDIT: Dec. 25 2013, Christmas Special edit. Edited a number of lines I wasn’t happy with, even though most people that will ever play this have probably already done so.

Acquiring the game:
You can buy the game from DLSite here: http://www.dlsite.com/maniax/work/=/product_id/RJ100803.html
or from the English DLSite here: http://www.dlsite.com/ecchi-eng/work/=/product_id/RE100803.html
If you don’t want to pay, well, you’re on the Internet. Finding it shouldn’t be too hard. If you like the game, I do suggest buying it, however. It’s very likely that this game only exists because of the commercial success of Monster Girl Quest. So if you want more monster girl games, support the people that create them for us.
Files in patch:
1. /English/ – directory of translated content
2. English patch install.bat – batch file for easy installation
3. VH2 English readme.txt – the file you’re reading now
4. kikiriki.exe – Phiber’s Kirikiri tool for extracting and decrypting the game files
5. madCHook.dll – library used by kikiriki for decryption
Easy Installation:
1. Copy all files in the archive into your Violated Hero II directory.
2. Run the English patch install.bat batch file and wait for it to finish. If you’re using a weird operating system, you might not have xcopy and will have to manually copy the files from the English/ directory. You should be fine on XP/Vista/7 though.
Manual Installation:
1. Copy all files in the archive into your Violated Hero directory.
2. Open a command prompt and run “kikiriki.exe -i data.xp3 -o data” This will extract and decrypt the game files. If you have problems with the decryption, try adding “-e VH2_game_executable.exe” to your arguments.
3. Rename or delete data.xp3 to prevent conflicts with the extracted files.
4. Copy everything from the English directory into the data directory, overwriting all files.
Help, it didn’t work!
1. Run the game with your computer in Japanese locale. Also make sure you extracted the game in Japanese locale too. There are lots of tutorials for this on the Internet.
2. Make sure you have a /data folder but no data.xp3 file. Rename or delete data.xp3 if you do, otherwise the game will still be in Japanese.
3. If you’re using applocale or a similar program rather than setting your computer to Japanese locale, make sure the Violated Hero II game directory name doesn’t contain any Japanese characters before you attempt the patch install.
4. Make sure the directory path to the game isn’t excessively long. I don’t know if it’s a problem with Windows or the game engine, but this can cause the game to not execute properly.
FAQ:
1Q. After defeating two of the generals in the castle, the other doors all locked. Is this a bug?
1A. No, on your first play-through, you’re supposed to go lose to Xueli. This gives you a game clear flag and keeps the doors from locking in the future. You should probably keep a save before you fight any of the generals that you can reload for this purpose. If you didn’t, you can start directly at the castle on a second play-through.
2Q. Some of the names and such aren’t translated, what’s wrong?
2A. Some details like those are saved with your save file. You’ll have to start a new game to see the names translated properly. It’s not a big deal at any rate.
Images that aren’t translated:
– Rank up images past the first. They don’t say anything new.
– Place name images. These look nice in Japanese and would have been a huge pain in the ass.
– Encyclopedia entries for non-bosses. Lots of work.
– Tutorial images other than the battle one. Exploring and the status screen are pretty self-explanatory.
– Battle icon messages. The tutorial battle is translated and the icons are self-explanatory.
– Enemy nameplates in battle.
– Most of the status screen.
If you find anything else not translated, it’s probably something I need to fix.
i spot it :3
I’m still getting that startup.tjs error. I need help please.
Mediafire just suspended your account.
I have all the latest files on mega. Mediafire suspended my account over a bunch of 100% save files that don’t violate copyrights or their terms of service in any way that I can figure. If they want to be idiots, Kim Dotcom can have my hits instead. Mediafire is dead.

Mega doesn’t give me the file. It says it is downloaded but I cannot find it on my PC…
Could you put it up somewhere else or make a torrent? mediafire has deleted/suspended it and mega upload wants me to turn off all my security settings or it won’t load and fuck getting sucked into kim’s new botnet
have you tried chucking it on anonfiles or dropbox?
I just put the VH1 and VH2 patches on anonfiles. Feel free to mirror the files wherever, I’m not protective over them or anything.

Still getting a startup.tjs error. Are you ever going to say something to me? I’ve already commented three times about this.
Hmm, I fixed someone else’s startup.tjs error and hoped that handled yours as well. Did you go through the troubleshooting stuff in the readme? Does the game work in Japanese?
How did you fix it? I went through the troubleshooting stuff perfectly and the game did work before I ran the patch.
Actually it looks like the other guy fixed his problem by downloading the game over again. Post some more info, screenshot, etc.
The English patch install won’t work for me at all if don’t have data.xp3. If I change it’s name and then create a folder all it does is tell me that it couldn’t copy anything. If I leave data.xp3 alone it seems to work until it asks me if /Data is going to be a file or a directory, no matter which I choose it just tells me 0 items copied. I went through the trouble shooting stuff and tried letting it do it’s thing with data.xp3 then changing it’s name and creating a data folder and just copy and pasting everything from English into it. Still in Japanese. Am I missing something?
It sounds like you’re doing it right so I’m not sure where the problem lies. If you renamed/deleted data.xp3 and the game still works, then you must have the files in /data/ correctly. Perhaps something messed up when you copied the English files into /data/?
No idea, though if I figure it out on my own then I’ll post it so others may benefit.
Okay…I just downloaded this file, now how do I open it? What are the setup steps?
Extract all files to the game’s directory, run the .bat batch file. The readme has instructions.
Dargoth I already downloaded the game 3 times like the other guy did. Nothing worked. You can see the error here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/94197637@N03/
What does your game directory look like?
Check the link above, I’ve added a couple of screencaps. Also just to add a thought, I downloaded the game from two different websites in my attempts to make it work, so I don’t think I downloaded a corrupted copy. The error was exactly the same with both copies, and both of them worked before I ran the patch..
That all looks fine. What’s in the data directory? startup.tjs should be there with a bunch of other subdirectories.
Check the link yet again.
Ok, at least we found the problem. It doesn’t look like kikiriki is extracting anything, although you DO have a data directory (did you create it yourself?). Have you tried following the manual installation procedures from the readme and using kikiriki from the command prompt?
No, I only messed with the easy instructions, therefore I thought I didn’t need the that kikiriki thing. Now I’m off to learn how to use command prompt, because I don’t know the first thing. I’ll let you know how it works out.
ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNND now it works. I feel like such an idiot. Thank you for all your help.
I get a syntax error. A blue screen pops up and tells me the error is at 4074:1 ???????(syntax error). This happened to both games when I tried to run it. What does this mean?
I have the same , help pls
Hi the game won’t translate when i do the bat file i have the error xcopy do you have a solution ?
Follow the manual install instructions. What operating system are you using anyway?
i use the 2 method manual and auto and i use windows 7

Does the French version of Windows have a different name for xcopy?
At any rate, if you manually copy the files from the English folder to the data folder, the game should work.
what is “xcopy” i don’t it i have tried the manually instally but i have a error message and a blackscreen for the game^^

okay, so far.. i read what i learn from the read me. first, copy all files in the archive (WinRaR) into a directory (folder). that means i extract the files into a folder, was i right?. oh and.. i don`t understand the meaning of command prompt, sorry my english is bad
Command prompt is cmd.exe in Windows. It’s what we old people used in the days before Windows existed. 🙂
You shouldn’t have to use it if the .bat file works for you though.

It’s a Windows utility, but not necessary if you manually install the patch. Does the game work in Japanese? It’s possible you downloaded a bad copy of the game.
hi sry for the late answer the game work only i japaness local and how did i know if i dowloaded a bad copy?
Hi, I extracted both the game and the English patch in Japanese locale. I installed it and data.xp3 got renamed to data.xp3.backup. It made its own data folder since I noticed it wasn’t there when I ran the game in Japanese. When I click on the .exe for the game itself it still runs it in Japanese. I tried picking apart your instructions in the readme file you had attached but I couldn’t figureit out. Can you please help?
Copy everything from the English folder into the data folder, overwriting the Japanese files. You should be good to go then.
Ah, missed that extra step somehow, thanks! It works in English now, Cheers!
so I tried to run the kiririri thing but whenever I do even as a Admin, a window pops up then goes away super quick.
I learned how to Command Prompt stuff but now my problem is that every time I try, I get a pop up that says a bunch of japanese stuff and data.xp3 for reasons unknown to me.
Mine refuses to start up and says 00.txt line:1
What in the hay does THAT mean?
I know this is a stupid question but can someone please give me a link on where I can download the full game?
Hellow Dargoth could u help me please?

I keep getting this error and i dont know how to fix it
hello i have the same problem as the i have formated mypc and i lost all my game but i know i have already done the translation but i forgot how you have helped me ionly remember that use a shortcut and had a command in the target
Make a shortcut to kikiriki.exe and add -i data.xp3 -o data to the target. Rename or delete data.xp3 then overwrite the files in the /data/ directory with the files from the /English/ directory.
Hope that works.
thank work perfectly fine now =D
I’m using windows 8 and I keep getting errors that I can’t understand.
It seems to run fine, but all the status screen and the square in the right (the one with a, b, c, d, e and so) are still in japanese.
I undertsand u wont translate the status, but what is that square at the right?
Also, the name “Lucia” for the main character…Is it a misstranslation or what? Until I met the harpy I really thought I was playing a prologue with a girl.
I’ve been sitting on a mostly finished 2.0 release of VH2 for awhile, but too busy to finish it up. Lucia is not a mistranslation, that’s the guy’s name. It’s appropriate that he has a girly name. 😛
Hello Dargoth i need your help i have tride to patch this game and i wont work i believe my copy of the game is good and i also believe im doing something wrong will you please help me to understand how i might have messed up
also im sorry if my asking for help with this irritated you in any way
“even though most people that will ever play this have probably already done so”. You must think on the future generation LOL.

[…] English Patch […]
I already tried everything, even in japonese, but a blue screen still pops up
Hello.
I tried applying the patch for VH2, and I tried everything: I put the patch files into the initial page on Winrar and ran the Install batch, I did the same when I opened the Winrar file for VH2, and it still didn’t work whether for file or directory.
I renamed data.xp3 to data.xp3.backup. I did that.
I don’t know what I’m missing.
